The Stalled Server Room

The access to the server room is now via the womens bathroom. There will be a sign on the womans door that can be changed from OPEN to CLOSED and vice versa. Should you need to enter the server room, please change the sign to CLOSED. Once you are done, please change it back to OPEN.

Gizmodo mysteriously remove “All 3G iPhones are fake” story

Gizmodo said there are no carrier get the 3G iPhone and all the leaked pictures are fake. The post appeared on the internet for few hours and it suddenly disappeared. Are the editors of Gizmodo having a fight for the controversial news, or they admit that the news is wrong and the leaked photos are right?

File-Sharer Convicted in Sweden’s Biggest P2P Case

A 31 year old file-sharer escaped prison this morning when he received a heavy fine and a suspended sentence for uploading music and movies. The court refrained from putting the defendant in prison, saying that the music industry needs to take some responsibility for the current situation.

BRICKED_AND_SIM_LOCKED_STRING found in iPhone firmware

The Greek technology site iPhone Hellas has been poking around in the iPhone 2 beta firmware and found all sorts of GPS-related goodies, as well as some more YouTube and Google integration, but the really interesting thing (to me anyway) is that they have also found the following string buried deep in the code: BRICKED_AND_SIM_LOCKED_STRING?.

OK, I understand Apple feeling the need to play the cat and mouse game with iPhone hackers in trying to keep the iPhone secure and such, but for Apple to openly put a string in their code that flaunts their “bricking” an iPhone…
