Are You Ready to Subscribe to Microsoft Office?

It is one of these products and service you may not look forward to, but knew it was coming: A subscription model to Microsoft Office. Microsoft envisions that more and more users will not own a copy of Microsoft Office in the future anymore, but rent it and provide the company with recurring revenue stream every year, instead a onetime fee.

AMD has an ace up its sleeve

Sometimes you just have to work with what you have and AMD quite apparently has mastered this art. Buy a 2.8 GHz processor, that can, if you want to, run at 3.2 GHz. (Almost) no overclocking experience required.

XP lives! Sort of.

Congratulations Linux. Yesterday was the day you made Microsoft blink. Microsoft has changed its mind and has decided to keep XP Home around after all

What's really happening is that hardware builders are giving Microsoft the cold shoulder, but you know, they won't get rid of the giant of Redmond just right away, far from it. What they're doing is running away from the corner where…

Nvidia declares the CPU dead

Just a short tidbit, but it has all the makings of a great soap opera. First chapter: Intel thinks the CPU can be a GPU. Second chapter: Nvidia is offended. Third chapter (where we are right now): Nvidia fires back and says the CPU is dead. Wonderful! Can there be a more entertaining piece just before the weekend? Sit back and enjoy!

China could squash Microsoft-Yahoo deal

As if Microsoft’s attempt to buy out Yahoo wasn’t in enough hot water, here comes more trouble: A new Chinese antimonopoly law, slated to take effect in August, could end up killing the deal.

In addition, as the Times points out, "the Chinese have in recent years become more and more alert to the role the Internet plays in their economic and political affairs." So any deal involving the Internet will most likely come…

Push email on iphone

how to emulate push/exchange on iphone

Since most iPhone users are on unlimited plans (sorry Ireland) the extra data incurred won't cost you anything. Hitting the mail server 15 times as often will have a slight hit on the battery life. It hasn't been noticeable to me…

More dirt in the Vista ‘junk PC’ lawsuit

New behind-the-scenes emails just released in the Vista ‘junk PC’ lawsuit shows that top Microsoft execs were not just upset and derisive about the capabilities of “Vista Capable PCs,” but about Vista altogether. Windows honcho Steven Sinofsky couldn’t even get his home printer to work. There’s more dirt as well.

I think that MS is totally crazy. This article really shows the depth of this problem at many levels. The main problem is incompetent people. It seems like a lot of incompetent people make it into high places. How can these people be allowed move…
