Apple accidentally ships MobileMe to .Mac customers

Apparently someone at Apple HQ got a little trigger happy on shipments of MobileMe.

@GrantIt probably depends on where you live. That's the number I get when they ask for my zip code on the Verizon web site. In any case, I was being sarcastic. I actually preferred the coverage I got when I was with Verizon but unfortunately…

AT&T Announces iPhone 3G pricing plans

Today, AT&T announced the iPhone 3G pricing plans. New customers/upgraders will get their shiny gadget for $199 - $299 (depending on whether you choose the 8 GB or 16 GB model). Early upgraders will have to pay $399 or $499, all with a two year contract and $18 upgrade fee. A no-commitment iPhone will be available for $599 & $699 after the launch.

Wow. These prices are insanely high. Even if you are eligible for the 199/299 prices, you are going to be paying unbelievable amounts per month. The old iPhone is/was $20/month for unlimited data and 200 texts, and this one is $35/month for the…

OFFICIAL: Rogers announces iPhone 3G plans

Unlimited data isn’t one of them…

Let's all be clear, folks: this is not the fault of Rogers. Rogers is just doing what every good monopoly should do, namely royally screwing over their customers. They are a CORPORATION answerable only to their shareholders, and their job is…

Bill Gates Retires Today

June 27th 2008 marks the day that Bill Gates steps out of his role as nerd-baron and into the shoes of full-blown immortal philanthropist. Thank You!

Steve Jobs is pretty arrogant. I could see him donating to charities but not that much.he regularly parks in the handicapped spot at Apple, Inc. I dont think that anyone can deny that he is arrogant and has high demands for perfection. He…

Nokia cries over leaks

Now here’s something you don’t see every day: a manufacturer openly complaining about its own product leaks on their corporate blog…

I can sympathize with their views. re: Engadget — You aren't inherently entitled to leaked information just because its available. I understand that your core business practice is to publish gadget info, but the whole…

Dell E and E Slim revealed

Dell E and E Slim revealed, taking on Eee and Air in one fell swoop

Steve Jobs didn't make BusinessWeek piss all over Vista yesterday.”Charles Di Bona, a senior analyst at Sanford C. Bernstein and a noted bull on Microsoft (MSFT), said in a June 10 report that “dampening” adoption of…

Debunk: Schiller’s front facing iPhone 3G camera

So there’s a sensational rumor going around that Phil Schiller unwittingly presented MobileMe at WWDC using an iPhone 3G with a front facing video camera. The idea that Schiller would unknowingly demonstrate such a device is, to put it mildly, absurd. The fact that the evidence is reviewable — and in HD — on Apple’s website makes it even more so.

I actually watched the keynote last night. Engadget pretended like the demos were boring, but frankly, they were a lot more interesting than the 3G iPhone announcement. Of course, maybe it's easier to sit thru the demos when you're not…

Voodoo floats 13.3-inch Envy 133 into the Air

Oh my. First your slicing cake with the MacBook Air, then you’re looking to steal its market share. Lenovo, you can’t afford to be smug either. Voodoo’s $2,099 Envy 133 isn’t a gaming rig. It is a 13.3-inch ultra-portable with LED-backlit display, 1,280 x 800 resolution, HDMI, hard disk or SSD option, instant-on Voodoo IOS mode that let’s you surf

the prices people are (apparently willing) to pay for these things make the mind boggle. To me it's a case of severely diminishing returns beyond $700 in the notebook market (for my needs).*eSATA powered by the USB……

iPhone 3G hands-on

Engadget has it with a more detailed specifications and comparisons

I'm in the same boat as you, except mine (8GB, purchased for $630 in mid-July 2007) is already broken. The camera won't work and applications crash all the time, despite my earnest efforts at both soft and hard restores, as…

The 3G iPhone not unboxed

Hey look, that NDA box which Apple never, ever sends was opened to reveal a severely misaligned reflection. Next.

It's hard to judge if it's a manip or not without trying to replicate the reflection yourself. I did this, it is spot on. Engadget must have 'severely misaligned eyeballs' to overlook it like that. I actually believe this is the…

SATA HDD dock becomes mutant card reader, scares pets

We’re big fans of SATA HDD docks that let you quickly access whole drives like noisy, overgrown memory sticks. An earlier unit offered just USB connectivity to your Mac or PC, later adding eSATA before rounding out its options with FireWire. Now we have a new model that still accepts bare 2.5- and 3.5-inch disks on top, but ditches the FireWire…

First. For HDDs use Scythe Quiet Drive. Its a life saver when it comes to cutting noise. I've been using it for a while now and my drives worked nicely making me forget how they sound.Second. Water cooling is GREAT for videocards with annoying…

New “Leaked” Pictures of the supposed 3G iPhone

Either Apple’s getting leakier or the fakers are getting fake…ier, but the latest round of supposed 3G iPhone pictures is upon us courtesy of Dutch site iPhoneclub.nl and our old friend Mr. Blurrycam, and they’re pretty convincing.

No opinion on these photos - but as someone who takes a lot of “spy shots”, that is, quick photos taken discreetly of things and people, it's pretty common to have less than sharp focus on them. Try whipping out your camera phone…

Microsoft shows off Multitouch Windows 7

Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer got on stage at D6 with Walt and Kara to talk… Microsoft, of course. While the company is still being rather coy about Windows 7 — some have blamed loose lips early on in Vista development for saddling the OS with too high of expectations and making things difficult for developers

Apple already has a MultiTouch Computer out. What many people seem to forget, because you can make it phone calls with it. And it makes very much sense in it's form factor.Actually: MultiTouch barelly makes sense on normal computers. Especially…
