How a Giant Solar Tower Could Power the Future

A new energy concept called a solar tower could generate enough electricity for 200,000 homes. Looking like a giant smokestack, it would release no noxious fumes ? just sun-heated air. Diggers do you want a girlfriend? Read this and learn how

Diggers have no fear The Internet is not a separate place a person can go to from the real world. The Internet is the real world as this geek learned how to master it, By the end of the year, he had six girlfriends simultaneously, all maintained through a complicated system of instant messenger, e-mail messages and heavily orchestrated dates.

It started in my sophomore year in high school. I went to one of those big Eastern public schools that pumps out students in a way that would make 19th-century industrialists throw their top hats into the air and shout…

Not just for Games Anymore, The Present and Future of GP-GPU

It wasn’t so long ago that 3D graphics cards were only expected to deliver higher frames-per-second in your favorite 3D games. But now we are about to enter the age of “GP-GPU,” general-purpose computing on a GPU, and it’s about ready for the mainstream. Here’s some of what you can look forward to.

The first hint of graphics cards doing something “more than 3D” was with the introduction of video acceleration. It started out simple, with partial decoding of MPEG video, moving gradually into full acceleration of the MPEG2 used in…

Google and Creator of Family Guy Strike a Deal

But Media Rights Capital, a boutique production company that has the ability to invest about $400 million a year in movies, television and Internet episodes, thinks it has figured out a sustainable business model with the Google Content Network….

Mundaneum Museum Honors the First World Wide Web Concept

On a fog-drizzled Monday afternoon, this fading medieval city feels like a forgotten place. Apart from the obligatory Gothic cathedral, there is not much to see here except for a tiny storefront museum called the Mundaneum, tucked down a narrow street in the northeast corner of town. It feels like a fittingly secluded home for the legacy of one of

Why Global Hackers Are Nearly Impossible to Catch

They’re in our computers, reading our files.
