Apple on how to replace an original iPhone with a new 3G

Apple has posted a Support Document that explains exactly how to replace your original iPhone with a new 3G iPhone. Basically there are two tracks: 1) In the US you don’t need your original SIM as your original “account information will be transferred to iPhone 3G’s included SIM when you purchase iPhone 3G.”

What I find amusing is that somehow what works (and is sensible) for non-US iPhone owners somehow just doesn't apply to us. Why should anyone have to be worried about a freakin' contract renewal when, in the GSM world, it…

Answer to Canadian iPhone Probs: Don’t buy the iphone

I agree, speak with your wallet, don’t buy it, at the very least for a month. Encourage your family or friends who might to hold off.
“Don’t buy the iPhone. Do what you, as sensible Canadians, will do when confronted by prices you can’t stand: Leave the iPhone on the shelf.”

Full text: An epic Bill Gates e-mail rant

I went back through the internal e-mails turned over in the antitrust suits against Microsoft, looking for new insights into Bill Gate’s personality. Read on for one of the gems that turned up, showing Gates in the role of chief rabble-rouser. It shows that even the Microsoft co-founder isn’t immune to the frustrations of everyday computer users

Actually, this e-mail is brilliant. I am happy to see that he gets it. I fear most executives are so isolated from the frustrations of the customer that they don't have the clue that he does. That said, the fact that there are still the…

Hand-Drawing Style In Modern Web Design - Volume 2 | Design Showcase | Smashing Magazine

Indeed, this is exactly what we observe at the moment. Hand-writing, earlier often taken to extreme, now seems to become subtle, supporting and less dominating. Below youll find some examples which are supposed to prove exactly that.

When hand-written elements are placed in logo or in a header, the designer makes sure that visitors will detect these elements. Since these areas are clicked more often than other layout elements, the…

Debunk: Schiller’s front facing iPhone 3G camera

So there’s a sensational rumor going around that Phil Schiller unwittingly presented MobileMe at WWDC using an iPhone 3G with a front facing video camera. The idea that Schiller would unknowingly demonstrate such a device is, to put it mildly, absurd. The fact that the evidence is reviewable — and in HD — on Apple’s website makes it even more so.

I actually watched the keynote last night. Engadget pretended like the demos were boring, but frankly, they were a lot more interesting than the 3G iPhone announcement. Of course, maybe it's easier to sit thru the demos when you're not…

The 3G iPhone not unboxed

Hey look, that NDA box which Apple never, ever sends was opened to reveal a severely misaligned reflection. Next.

It's hard to judge if it's a manip or not without trying to replicate the reflection yourself. I did this, it is spot on. Engadget must have 'severely misaligned eyeballs' to overlook it like that. I actually believe this is the…
