The option to import stories from other sites can be found via the small “Import” link at the top of your Mini-Feed. Only a few sites?Flickr, Yelp, Picasa, and del.icio.us?are available for importing at the moment, but we’ll be adding Digg and other sites in the near future.

Twitter has one of the fastest growing application ecosystems of any web service outside of Facebook. For this post, we looked at 37,248 tweets and found 142 different ways in which people interact with the Twitter service. Some of the results, which follow below, were rather surprising.

Far more common, at least at Digg, is for news to take 6 to 24 hours to get to the most visible place on the site. Big social news sites are so reliant on explicit user validation of news as important, and require that this goes on in the context of a terrible signal to noise ratio, that these are not the sites to go to for early news.
