Apple to launch iChat for Windows along side iPhone 2? WTF!?

Theres a lot of discussion saying that the photos of the iPhone 2 are fake. Some say the part about a Windows requirement is proof. But look again: Its talking about iChat, and says Now available for iPhone ' and Windows.? Does this mean Apple is going to launch iChat for Windows like it did Safari?

If anything, I would say the more likely scenario is that someone with knowledge of the new iPhone (but never having actually seen it), decided to create this “leak” for the purpose of disseminating the information…

New iPhone Images Leaked

Crunchgear has released photos leaked from someone with obviously strong Apples connections of the new iPhone.

I would assume these might not be real, otherwise a quick takedown would be in order… Although, the Apple legal team might not be working full force at midnight on a Friday.

تصاویری از ویندوز 7

CrunchGear has a bevy of advanced screen grabs of Windows 7 as it will be introduced in 2010. They look fantastic.

3.) I’m listening to Seth Godin speak in another tab in my browser, and the interesting divide between what he’s saying and what these screenshots are presenting me speaks volumes. It’s not about the technology,…

OLPC XO Laptop 2.0 Has Dual Touchscreens, Looks Amazing

OLPC founder Nick Negroponte just unveiled the next-gen XO Laptop, and it totally blows the original away. Smaller and more like a foldable book, it does away with the keyboard and trackpad to go totally touchscreen?that’s right, dual touchscreens, straight out of the future, like a kid’s book in Minority Report.

Enhanced Book Experience - Dual-touch sensitive displays will be used to enhance the e-book experience, with a dual-mode display similar to the current XO laptop. The design provides a right and left page in vertical format, a…

Check if Compiz will run well on your Linux

Compiz works perfectly on most hardware that has good drivers - however, problems do exist and sometimes it may not work so well with your computers graphics card. Depending upon the kind of drivers and support, Compiz may not work at all, or it might throw up errors when activated.

Just in case something seems to be incompatible, you’ll get a clear report on what’s wrong. You’ll get descriptions which will help you to understand the real reason why Compiz wouldn’t run well on your…

Is your ISP modifying the HTML you view?

Last month we learned that some ISPs are inserting ads into web pages requested by their end users. Have you wondered how often this is happening, and whether it's happened to you? This web site is designed by the University of Washington and ICSI to answer these questions. Visit it to see if your ISP is modifying your web pages in flight!

The Experiment Harness loads one page (launcher.fcgi) from each of the domains listed above into separate frames on this page. In each frame, launcher.fcgi runs an independent test to determine the integrity of a second page from the same…

Hands on with the First 3G iPhone

Crunch Gear gets the first hands on with the new 3G iPhone.

First off, the calculator buttons aren’t squared (as found in the latest 1.2 firmware). I doubt Apple would ship a 3G phone with old firmware…

All About Linux 2008: Aren’t UNIX and Linux the same thing

The “What’s the difference between UNIX and Linux?” question can be answered similar to the analogy section that many of us had to complete on the SAT test;
UNIX is to DOS as Linux is to Windows.

doug.. Linux is no more a ‘variant’ of unix then toyota is a ‘variant’ of ford. Strictly speaking, linux is a clone of unix.. Just as the toyota could be called a ‘clone’ of ford (in…

Mozilla CEO: Apple Auto-Installing Safari Borders on Malware

Gizmodo reported yesterday that Apple was pushing Windows Safari 3.1 through Software Update, even if you didn’t already have it installed. They thought it was a little odd, but they weren’t pissed. Mozilla’s CEO, on the other hand, well, check out this snip from this blog…

matt buchanan, your post once again proves you and gizmodo are apple suckers. And for those ppls, who comparing this with 'Microsoft did this with IE' is dumb example. IE is part of Windows, the same way Safari is part of MacOSX. Microsoft…

Minority Report-like interface gets demoed at CeBIT

Needless to say, there’s no indication as to where this particular bit of technology is headed next, but it seems safe to assume that it’ll become a fixture of trade shows for years to come.

Kind of old news. There was a company out of New York called Perceptive displaying a similar system to this at Autodesk University in Vegas back in November. Really slick stuff though. Autodesk had their own software running on top. I had the…

Feature: Reclaim Memory by Mastering Windows’ Task Manager

While a lot of programs claim to optimize memory use and pare down processes, Windows’ built-in Task Manager can do the job just fine, given the right tools and know-how. Today you’ll extend and empower Windows’ Task Manager to speed up your system by cutting out unnecessary memory hogs.

Our first stop is to download the Quick Access Infobar, which adds a link next to each process to a relevant search result from the ProcessLibrary.com web site. The ProcessLibrary site won’t know anything specific about your…
